Electronic Data Interchange Solution for Microsoft Dynamics NAV
The EDI module has been designed as a set of tools that provide the user with a maximum amount of flexibility when dealing with their trading partners. These tools can be used to map any Navision data element to an ANSI X12 standard. Once the mapping is in place, the Transaction Management tools allow the user to easily manage the day-to-day process of conducting electronic commerce.
Businesses can utilize EDI to ensure that the documents they exchange are interpreted correctly, regardless of the platforms or internal applications they use. Because EDI enables electronic documents to move from one computer to another without the need for human intervention, it is faster, cheaper, and more accurate than the exchange of paper documents.
EDI is an integrated mapping tool within the Microsoft Dynamics NAV database that maps any NAV data element to any EDI element without any programming requirements. This solution is designed to provide a maximum amount of flexibility as well as a turn key approach.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV EDI requires no conversion software, making this a simple and cost effective solution for document exchange. It is quick to implement and easy to maintain which results in better relations with your customers and lower cost per transaction to you.
Speed critical documents through your sales and purchase processes, standardize approval workflows, and enforce approval limits. With Microsoft Dynamics NAV, you can set up e-mail approval chains, define approval limits, and even substitute approvers to keep critical business processes moving.
Converting Data from other databases:
CBSi has been converting data from a myriad of sources into NAV, since 1996. The capabilities in Dynamics NAV allow us to bring data into any table (customer, contact, vendor, item, employee, manufacturing BOM, open orders, transactions, etc.) Unlike other systems that require incoming data to be in a specific format, Dynamics NAV’s ability to add logic, new fields, translation tables, etc. provide true flexibility when converting data. If you can get the data out of your existing systems, CBSi can bring it into Dynamics NAV.
Integrating with other systems:
CBSi has integrated with a myriad of client systems over the years. Tools available to us include:
- File transfer (via .xml, text, .csv, Excel)
- Microsoft SQL
- Web services – exposing any of the logic to outside programs
- Outlook synchronization – of any table or entity
- Mobile application synchronization – of any table or entity
- Web site – direct integration with a variety of tools
